I never knew my Grandparents as my Grandfather died in '47 and Grandmother in '57,I only remember seeing her one time and that was after she had had a stroke,so no info from her. The only info we ever got was that my Aunt Clo, Edgar Walter's daughter said that she had letters from Denmark with the return address as Christensen and supposedly still has them in what she left the family, she died this year and no one seems to know where they are.
All I ever knew about my Great-Grandparents names was Niels and Ellen,Until I started corresponding with Poul Erik Rasmussen, then all the pieces seemed to fall into place and make sence. All my Father ever told me was that Grandpa was born in Jutland because that's what he was told,I was told it was an island off the coast of Copenhagen and never knew it was a peninsula. My Grandma's name was Hansen before she married and she was born in Copenhagen,Sjalland on 2 Nov.1882 maybe that's where Hansen came from or possibly it was changed at Ellis Island.I don't know, but with all of your help the pieces are finally coming together.....Thank You.
