I was born in Danmark on 14 July 1958 and immigrated to Australia with my parents in 1961. My father, Svend Arne Petersen, was 48 when I was born and he died when I was 22, before I was mature enough to really know and understand him. I loved and respected him for his integrity, sincerity, gentleness, generosity and wisdom, and I knew he carried a terrible burden of guilt, grief and sadness after the inhumane depravities of World War 2 and the sudden death of his first daughter in the early 1950s. But I'd like to know more about this quiet enigma of a man who I still miss so many years after his death in 1981. He was born on 25 June 1913, and had 2 children from his first marriage - a daughter called Bende (I think that is how it's spelt)and a son called Birger. That's all I really know about him. Can anyone help me find out more?
