This increases my confidence that Peder (from Toflund) may be the same person as Peter (from Norwich, Connecticut). It may be that Peter's obituary misspelt 'Assens' as 'Assen'.
I know that he visited Denmark several times during the twentieth century. Perhaps the family moved to Assens from Odense sometime later?
Also, I suppose it is possible that he emigrated from Denmark before 1880, then returned only to emigrate to the U.S.again about 1885.
Btw. Peter had the following children in Norwich: Bessie, Marie, Anders, John and Selma. The names Marie and Anders also are names of other family members you listed in Fyn.
