I am trying to locate the place of birth (Denmark) for Peter Christian Peterson. That is the spelling of his name on U.S. documents (e.g., census, obituary, etc). I do not know if he would have spelt it that way in Denmark.

I am confident that I have his correct dob and dod. I know that he immigrated to Norwich Connecticut ~1885 (from the 1910 U.S. census for Preston (Norwich), Connecituct).

I also know that he lived and died in Norwich, CT. The earliest record I have of him residing in Norwich is 19 October 1888 (Court of Common Pleas, citizenship application).

I have found the record of a Peter Peterson who arrived in NY on 20 Mar 1886 aboard the Elbe (port of origin, Bremen); I am not certain if this is the same Peterson I am researching.

I also have found the birth record of a Peder Christian Pedersen with the same dob in Toftlund, Haderslev, Denmark (from www.familysearch.org: Toftlund; Den Danske Folkekirke,Batch Number: C208261). However, I cannot verify that he is the same Peterson as the one I am researching. Does anyone have any information that could either confirm or eliminate him from consideration?

Also, there is at least one other Peder Pedersen born on 20 Sept 1858 in Denmark. He was born in Haarslev, Ting-Jellinge, Soro, Denmark (again, www.familysearch.org).

Thank you for any help you can provide.
