His arrival date is given as March 1880, no day given. I'm having trouble finding out much about the ship named "Old Kensington", although there are a couple of mentions on Google about a clipper by that name.

The NSW archives says a ship called Old Kensington arrived into Sydney in 1899. Victoria unassisted passenger index has some arrivals in 1886/7, but only a couple (two of which are for the Captain).

It seems that the Old Kensington might not have ordinarily been a passenger ship, and thus Peter may have worked his way over/jumped ship. I'd be interested in knowing what his occupation was on his marriage certificate...
