Early Denman History

Hello all,

I've just returned to Montreal from a trip to the Nottinghamshire area.

We originally went to the area to trace the grave of (the first) John Denman.

Sadly to say, due to some misdirection, we never found the church where he was supposedly buried (Christ Church), but we made a stellar discovery in Retford.

There's a small museum next to the visitor center in Retford, and they've been keeping documented birth, death and marriage information on the Denmans in the area for many years. Some of the papers go back to the 1500s.

Did you know that Queen Mary (of William & Mary) and Queen Anne are descended from Denmans?

The kind ladies at the museum graciously photocopied the family tree showing the 2 British Queens, along with their ancestors and decendants.

If you are interested in a copy of that tree, please contact me by posting a reply with your email address.

Ken
