I checked the 1880 Comanche Co., TX census, page 95B, dwelling #176/family# 177:
Murdoc M. Rhodes,head of household, age 25, farmer, born MS, father born TN, mother born AL; wife Amanda E., age 18, MS/MS/MS; brother Robert H., age 26,MS/TN/AL; sis-in-law Hester J., age 25, MS/MS/MS; nephew John D., age 5, MS/MS/MS; neice Cleo,age 3, TX/MS/MS; mother Nancy C., age 50, AL/AL/AL; sister Eliza C., age 17, MS/TN/AL; sister(a mistake) James W, age 14, MS/TN/AL.
I looked for the Rhodes and Denley families in MS. I found Nancy C., age 44, born AL, with 8 children, including the ones in the 1880 census, all born in MS, and Kindren? Hardy, age 71, born GA, and Margaret Hardy, age 65, born GA, probably Nancy's parents. The were on page 686 of Clarke Co., MS.
I could not find a Denley family anywhere in MS with a daughter named Hester. Hope this helps.
