My great grandparents were Elihu and Hettie (Denham) Garland. Little Granny (Hettie) passed away in 1965 in Somerset, KY. I know that John Obed Jr. and Mary (Gideon) Denham were my greatgrandma's parents. I am looking for legal proof that John Obediah Denham, Jr was the son of John Obedian Denham, Sr. As John Jr was not mentioned in his parents' will after his mother, Martha (Ramsey) Denham died. His father John Sr. was shot and died earlier in Boone Cty Missouri. The two younger brothers stayed in Boone County (Robert & Daniel) and supposedly the older two brothers (John Jr and Frances) stayed in Pulaski Cty Kentucky on their grandfather's (Squire Turner Denham)farm. To prove DAR connection, I need some legal proof of John Jr to John Sr. The DAR office in Washington DC said that with John Jr not mentioned in the will as a son, I need something else to prove the relationship.
I have proof of relationship starting with William Denham & Sarah (Turner) Denham in 1748 up to John O Denham Sr, then lose legal connection here. I know that Hettie Denham was the daughter of John Jr and Mary G. Denham.
Any information was be greatly appreciated.
