For the ancestry of William Dunham/Denham/Donnom see my message #539. The Denham spelling was used by the immigrant William for a SC headright grant. The next Generation used the spelling Donnom. Dunham began with the grandsons William and Daniel. Both moved with the Dorchester Society to Liberty County Georgia. William II's grandson Charles switched back to the Denham spelling. My family that moved into Flordia stayed with the Dunham spelling.

I have not located where William I originated. He very possibly was from New England, Virginia or Barbados. He lived in the midst of the Dissenters of Colleton county and his children were members of the Dissenter congregations. This association strongly suggests New England or Barbados.

Elizabeth Donnom who married John Martin and later married Nathan Brownson was the daughter of James Donnom of Colleton County S.C. She was the niece of William II.
