My family presently lives in the state of Washington. My Grandfather LEELAND ALFRED DENEY was born in Minnesota and first came out west to Roseburg Oregon then later moved up into Washington state and lived in Olympia and Puyallup. He was married twice, first to Dorothy Mae Downhour (issue 2 sons) and then to Hazel Crawshaw (no issue). His parents were EDGAR DENEY and HATTIE JANE RAY. His grandparents were JOHN DENEY and LUCETTA MCNITT from New York in the area around Jefferson County in the 1800's.
I have found our surname spelt so many ways its been a wild goose chase to find the golden egg of information - but having fun in spite of it. If you have connections to my family please contact me. thanks
