The Ludovic Grant I mentioned was a Scotchman who went to live
among the Cherokees about 1726. He married a full-blood Cherokee
woman. His daughter married William Emory. Their daughter,
Elizabeth Emory married Captain John Stuart. Their son, Bushyhead
married Ghigoneli. Their daughter Catherine married John Gunter
(1750-1835). Their son Edward or Edmond or Edwin Gunter married
Elsie or Alice McCoy. Their daughter, Jane or Jennie Gunter
married Leroy Keys. Their daughter, Letitia Victoria Keys
(1843-1906) married Joseph Asbury Denbo (1844-1926). Their son,
Robert Leroy Denbo (1880-1935) was my grandfather. He married
Edith Madge Brown (1885-1933). Their daughter, Elouise C. Denbo
(1910-1996) married John Bernard Fornasero (1904-1967). I,
Barbara Joyce Fornasero (1930-) married Joseph Evans Grimes
(1928-). So I do not know if there is any connection between
Ludovic Grant (above) and Ulysses S. Grant.
The other Grant line in our family is the same as yours. Mariah
Grant married Jacob N. Denbo. Their son was the Joseph Asbury
Denbo mentioned above.
