I'm sorry that I don't have any information for you, but was hoping that you might be able to help me. When I read in your message that Charity Dempsey moved to IN with her sons and their wives in 1859, I wondered if one of those couples could possibly be my g-g-g-gparents. I know that my g-g-gmother was Lou Henry Dempsey, born somewhere in IN abt. 1865. She married Charles Fletcher Skinner and died in 1921 in Clayton, NJ.
She had three sisters: Ida, Katherine(sp?) m. Joel Harris, and Elizabeth. At some point they all moved to Philadelphia. I have no further information and am trying to trace them. If you have anything that would either prove or disprove the connection, I'd be very grateful.
