Most of the Censuses 1870 and before are wonderfully indexed and published in books and can be found in larger libraries. Find out for sure where your family lived at times of interest. Most counties and some smaller and all large cities had directories every few years or sooner giving you more data. Try writing to the city or town hall in Lee and ask what data they have. You also may be lucky and find Edward James Dempsey in LDS records or in Family Treemaker CDs.
