I was able to spend some time in the genealogy section of the Rome, GA library. While looking up DEMPSEY info for myself, I copied down everything I could find on the Dempseys there. Other than what you see here, I know nothing more, but I hope this information helps some of you, "cousins" in your search for your ancestors.

              Hon. Col. Montgomery, informs us that he left them at Little Saludee last
              Tuesday, and supposes they might arrive at Congarees as last night, and not
