I am a descendent of a John dempsey born 1758 Patrick County Va. married a Rachel Solomon Sep 6, 788, Botetourt county, va by minister Edward crawford. he served in 7th virginia reg under Brig. gen Danile Morgan
/in American revolution, enlisted 4/7/1777
His father was i believe a William dempsey
who came over from Ireland with two brothers
Andrew and Jonathan about 1730. This is why i question your palce of birth for william
William had a first wife named Gulliver and no 2 was Meadows Their children were William Jr. , Polly, John (My Ancestor), Elizabeth and Mark
