I too have been studying the Dempsey name over the
years and I have to take you to task, that there is more than the
O Dempseys in Ireland, there was also a small tribe in Ulster called MacDempsey
that is usually rended into English as McGimpsy.
Granted I am sure that most of the DEMPSEYS evolved form the O Dempseys
