i am sorry it has taken me so long to reply to you, we have been working a lot of overtime at work ever since April.....i am hoping that is about to let up and get back on a normal 5 day / 40 hour work week.

the only research i have managed to get done is a little on William L.'s line and his son Balem.....this was through Ancestry.coms hints online .....

i am still brocked in as far as Mary Malinda...my gg-grandmother.....i can't find them in any census record although i know they were still married in 1870.....they had 3 children, the oldest, my g-grandfather, James Polk Carden, born abt. 1869....it doesn't make sense that i can't any record of them.....

i did find J.P.( James Polk ) and his wife Martha in DeKalb Al. ( Lathamville)/ 1900 ..... according to Ancestry.com, the name was spelled CORDON.....but that is a misspelling, if you read the actual image itself.

3 houses down from them was his brother, Balem Dempsey Carden and his family.

i still have no idea what year Mary Malinda died or where she is buried.

would mind sharing what you have on Alfred M. so i can add to my paper files ????????
