I have just read your msg re Dempsey of Spartanburg.

My gggrandfather was Balum Dempsey (sometimes spelled Demsey)through his son Alfred Marion Dempsey (1848-1902) who married Susannah E. Dunn (1854-1906). Alfred Marion (A.M.) had sibligs - Mary M (b 1850), Wm L (1853), James (1855), Sarah F (1856), Harriet A (1861), Jane (1864), Frances (1868).

My cousin in Alabama replied to another posting by Jon Hile in 2006 and I notice that you had also posted a response to him. My cousin was trying to find the burial place of Balum and Harriet because she had been unable to locate grave stones in the Blue Springs Cemetery although Mr. Hile said they were on his list of burials.

I would also like to find the burial place of Alfred Marion Dempsey. His wife Susannah and three of her daughters (one which was my grandmother) moved to Texas where Susannah died in 1906, and I have not been able to locate anything on Alfred.
