It is not unusual for Irish first names to be in clusters. If a William had 5 sons, all their 1st born sons would be named William.
Second sonswere named after their maternal grandfather. In some cases every generation would name their first sons William. Also, if a son died young, another could be given the sme first name. Is this a problem or a way to find cousins and more leads back extra generations?
