Wanda, it's been a while since i really dug into the Dempsey family but recently i traced Malinda's brother William L. to Bradley Co. Tn. , where Balum and Harriett's wills were probated. in the census record, it shows him with a son, also named Balum.
William, Harriett and Balum , William 's wife Fannie , their daughters, Gracie and Georgia are buried in Bradley Co., at Blue Springs cem.
in the 1920 Bradley Co. census, there is a B. Dempsey, age 39, making him born in 1881, i wonder if this could be William L.'s son????
i was recently told that James, d. in 1919, Walker Co. Ga. but was buried in Valley Head Al.
Valley Head is where my some of my family are buried and in the 1880 Cherokee Co. Al. census there is a James Dempsey , age 25, making him born in 1855, same as Malinda's brother....so i am wondering again, if this could be him and he was moving back and forth between Ga. and Al. , as the children, Daniel and Ida were born in Al. but the last son shown , William was born in Ga.
