I have a Marion Jackson Dempsey, b. Franklin County, AL. I will let you know if I find any info on Francis Marion.
Have you checked Calhoun and Cleborne Counties in AL. Some of the Dempseys came from Georgia to this area of Alabama in the mid 1800s.
Some settled there and others settled in other counties in Alabama.
