I am having the same trouble getting the exact location of birth of my gggrandfather Thomas D. DEMPSEY, b: 12/12/1811 in Ireland, d: 1892 in Dubuque, Iowa. Married Sophia Radford from England and they had 12 children. I know there are a lot of Dempsey's out there, because I have been to the family reunion. Most of us are located in Iowa. I just can't locate any of them any more. Can anyone help me with this branch of my tree?
