Patrick Dempsey, Morris Township, New Jersey

I am researching my wife's family history. She is descended from Patrick Dempsey, who was apparantly born in 1823 in Ireland, and emigrated to Morris Township, New Jersey. His wife was Maryann Hefferman, who was born in Ireland in 1827. They were apparantly married in 1847. They had a number of children. My wife is descended from Lewis. The other children were Rachel, Edward, William, Albert, and Anna. I do not know what happened to the other children. Lewis stayed in Morristown.

If anyone has any information on the pedigree of Patrick, and his connections in Ireland, I would appreciate it.
