Cork is a large county. 20% of the Irish live there.I have Dempsey roots in Cork in Bandon and Cork City. I've traced them to before 1800. My people were Jeremiahs and Johns. My grandfather reached NYC in 1882/3 with older brother John. Ireland is a small country & Dempsey is not in the 100 most common names. I have much information on the early history of the clan. Originally there was only one Dempsey.
