Hi...I noticed this forum..ah so cool to see other dempseys..
Anyways I wanted to let you know I'm from near Chattanooga TN maybe 2 to 3 hrs from Nashville. Some of my more rescent distant relatives live and still live in GA, practically everyone in the phonebook in my area whose last name is Dempsey is a close relative of mine. I dont have much contact with the "dempsey" side of my family but I've always been interested in my family's history and I've also heard a rumor that all the dempsey's came from an Irish clan, that at a change of eras part went to England part came over to the US and some stayed in Ireland. Nowadays I know the dempseys have spread to global proportions, just the idea is so cool.
Ok what I mean to say is, if you're really interested I could delve more into my family history (interrogate my dad and grandparents) and let you know what I come up with.
