Dear Teersa,

Thankyou for the Dempsey information.

When I was a member of the Logan Co. WV gen soc. and got their newsletters in the mail, [in the 1990's] there was a picture of William Harrison "Jack" Dempsey [ the boxer], at a SIMPKINS family reunion.

My Dad Cline "Clyde" Simpkins born 1911 Logan Co. WVa always told us kids that he was a cousin to Jack. And to the Hatfields, I seen he was correct, and not pulling my leg..ha-ha...he spoke more of Jack and the Hatfields than his parents.

I found Simpkins in Logan [ 1850 ] one was Nancy Simpkins [ at one time I thought she was my direct line going with stories my Dad told.. I was wrong on that path of my research.] My Simpkins were from KY went to Logan by 1909.

I do tie to Eli Simpkins listed on the 1850 Logan Co. That's a long story with my tie to Eli.

With Ruth Starr , her son Davidson Sansom married Martha A. Simpkins daughter of Nancy Simpkins [ 1850 Logan ]
Martha did have children to Davidson.
Martha married John Blankenship by 1860 and had children with him.

Thankyou,
Patty
