Hi:
My Grand Mother was Hulda (Mulhulda) Dempsey. I did some research on Rachel. She was from Philidelphia, Pa. She had a sister. Their Mother died & her Father was lost at sea. He had ships & traded in the west indies. Both girls were raised by a family in Va. Hence she married into the Dempseys. My line of Dempsey's came into Va. from Ireland prior to the 1800's. They eventually settled in Mingo & Logan County, W. Va. A great source is the Dempsey Exchange 5387 Chestnut Hill Drive, Willoughny, Ohio 44094.
