The people I am looking for are from Mingo and Logan Co. in WVA, too. I am not sure about the Hy Dempsey; but, maybe they are of some relation. My great grandfather was named George Dempsey, and he was married to Pearl Basden. They both lived in Lenore, but, eventually moved to Okeechobee,Fl. My grandfather is first cousin to boxer Jack Dempsey, and I am trying to get their parent's and grandparent's names. I believe that they lived in that area around the time that you are looking for because my grandfather worked in the mines.
