Do you recognize this person? Might he have been related to the Gerald Dempsey in my prior posting? One of the Murray family noted in item #3 of my prior posting ran his campaign for judge (Connecticut? or New York?). Was he one of the 11 children of Patrick Donahue, a butcher? They included Josephine Donahue Morgan, aunt of the campaign manager, whose husband inherited Morgan & Brother Warehouses (1851) in
Manhattan from his father; James Paul Donahue, Sr., who married F. W. Woolworth's youngest daughter, Jessie; and John Vincent Donahue who ran Wendell Willkie's campaign in NY against FDR. Two other of the 11 married two children of George Ehret, owner of the Hellgate Brewery.
Bishop Stephen J. Donahue, secretary to Cardinal Hayes, and administrator of the Archdiocese of NY until then-Bishop Francis Spellman took over, was their cousin.
