The 1920 census for Davidson County, TN lists:
Sam "Demumber", age 29
Rose, age 25
Katherine age 6
Iva age 2 11/12
Sam, Jr age 1 6/12
Also in the same household:
Andrew age 21 Brother
Charles Lewis age 42 Brother-in-Law
I found this listing in my search for Lewis's. Rose (or Rosa) Lewis was the daughter of John F. Lewis and Elizabeth Matherly of Sumner Co, TN. On the internet the only Sam I found (approximately the right age and with a brother named Andrew, also the right age) is always shown with a wife named "Letha".
Was Letha a second wife for Sam? If so, when did Rose die? Do Sam and Rose have any surviving descendants? Or is "Demumber" not a garbled version of "Demonbreun"?
Was "Andrew" William Andrew Demonbreun (1899-1985), a professor of clinical pathology at Vanderbilt University?
