Chauncey/Chicago
Dear Cousins,
I have read a number of messages and here's some info that might help some of you:
-- Chauncey is a CT family last name; this is an important family with, as I remember, an English Royal connection
-- Hubbards are found in both CT (Wethersfield furtraders) and NJ (Thos., one of 1st 2 patentees of Monmouth Co., NJ), origin MA? Gordon Hubbard was a famous frontiersman and agent for John Jacob Astor in Chicago. Ca. 1830s he led a group of families from western CT to Chicago. NJ folk may have joined them, although that's speculative.
Hope this helps someone,
Kay Larson
