Hi Dawn,
It's really not about James, but I've been 'absent' for a while.
Gene and I both descend from Mary Ann Turner-Dement, who was married to John Malcolm Dement. I am still looking for the name of her father. Her mother's name was Elizabeth. I have found a James S. Turner, who might be her brother, but some things don't fit.

In searching for Dements, I came across this:

Dement, Thomas a deputy in 1648.

An ancestor, maybe?
