MARY S. DEMENTS LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT AND CODICIL
IMARY S. DEMENT of Charles county, State of Maryland, being of sound and disiposing mind, memory and understanding do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following:
After all my joint debts and funeral expenses are paid, I give devise and bequeath all my estate both real and personal, to be equally devided among my son CHARLES FENDLEY DEMENT and my daughters MARGARET HELENA DEMENT, MARY AGNES DEMENT and GERTRUDE THERESA DEMENT, share and share alike.
And I do hereby onstitute and appoint my son CHARLES FENDLEY DEMENT the sole executor of this my last wil and testament hereby revoking all other wills theretofore made by me.
In testamony whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fifth day of September in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-seven.
Signed, sealed, published and declared my MARY S. DEMENT, the above named testarix? as ? for her last will and testament, in the presence of us, who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other here subscrive our names as witnesses hereto.

Whereas, since its execution of the aobve and aforegoing will, sealed the twenty-fifth day of September A. D. 1897, certain changes have occurred in my family which make it necessary to alter some of the provisions of said will. Now, therefore, I declare this to be a codicil hereto in manner and form following; As my son CHARLES FENDLEY DEMENT has married since the date of my said will and I have already made arrangements to convey to him by deed as soon as they survey ? be bade, the two western most fields of the farm in which I now reside,
know as " EUTAW FOREST"in fee simple subjet to a ??, as used for his full share of my real estate, and here given and delivered to him, certain articles of personal property, as used for his full share of my personal?, it is my will that all the remainder of my said farm "EATAW FOREST", exlcusive of the two fields thus ? conveyed to my said son, and all ? real and personal propety ?? belong to me at the time of my death, shall be divided equally ?? and amoung my three daughters, MARGARET HELENA DEMENT, MARY AGNES DEMENT and GERTRUDE THERESA DEMENT, share and share alike, as heirs? and in fee simple. My married daughters MARY LOUISE SANDERS AND ELIZABETH ? COX, are already well provided for, and as for that reason not mentioned in my former will or provided for in this codicil. And I do hereby ? this? of my son CHARLES FENDLEY DEMENT as Executor, made in the above an aforegoing will, and do by this my codicil, in his ? and stead, ? ,? and appoint my daughers MARGARET HELENA DEMENT, MARY AGNES DEMENT, and GERTRUDE THERESA DEMENT to be the Executrixes of this my last will and testament. in testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this 20th day of August 1902.
