Hi! Robert, I looked in my records for marriages in Ripabottoni around 1868 and prior to that date , and unfortunately I have not seen the names of your ggrand-parents. Did you get the info regarding the births of you grand-father and his siblings through the microfilms of the Family History Centre? It was through those microfilms that I was able to collect all the data regarding birth, marriage and death records. If you are already familiar with those microfilms and you were not able to find the marriage certificate of Alessandro and Filomena Diodati from the village, Comune di Gallucio, Province of Caserta, it probably means that Filomena was born in another village but most likely your great-grandfather was born in Gallucio. Marriages always occured in the birth village of the spouse. I would suggest that you look into the birth records of Gallucio, Caserta , from the microfilms of the Family History Centre. It would mean that you would have to order, at a minimum cost, the specific microfilm that would cover the birth dates around 1848 from that village. You'll probably find the birth record of Alessandro. As for the marriage certificate, you could write to Italian State Archives of Caserta and see if they can be of any help. Here is the address: Archivo di Stato, Provincia di Caserta, Via Nazionale Appia 1, 81100 Caserta, Italy. I found the resource book "Italian Genealogical Records" by Trafford R. Cole, Psy.D., very helful and I would recommend it. It brings a lot of clarity with genealogical research for Italy. You could probably find it through you local library. It's worth the effort. Hope this was a help. In the meantime I wish you good luck . Ciao! Linda
