Oklahomamarried Gladys Lillie Johnson 15 March 1927 @ Pawnee, Pawnee Co., Oklahomadied 06 June 1981@ Pawnee, Pawnee
Co., Oklahoma.
Mary Delp Cartmell married 2nd to Henry Benson, and had one son, Virgil Benson b. circa 1916 in Pawnee County, Oklahoma.
I believe that Virgil died around 1960 in Bakerfield, CA.I have tried on several occasions to contact Virgil's children
because they have Mary's Bible. But, I haven't ever been successful. After Mary's death, the Benson side had nothing to
do with the Cartmell side.(Don't have any reason).
I do have many court documents from Pawnee County. I have moved recently, and those documents are still
stored.
I have never really done much research on the Delp family, but according family lore, there is supposedly
Cherokee blood mixed in there somewhere. If you were to look at Mary & Martha's photos, they could pass for having native
american ancestry. I have photos of both ladies, and a photo of William and Lucinda Delp.
Hope the above has helped with your search.Perhaps I will pick the Delp(h) line back up after the holidays.
