Dear Delorey Cousins, A Delorey Family Reunion has tenatively been planned for August 17-19, 2004. It will take place in Tracadie, Nova Scotia, where our common ancestor Thomas Jacquet dit DesLauriers settled over 200 years ago. Duke Snyder and I are trying to put together a mailing list and get an idea of how many people would be interested in attending such an event. To accomplish this, we're asking anyone who might be interested to "pre-register." It doesn't commit you to anything. We realize that a lot of things can happen between now and 2004. But it will get you on the mailing list, and help us to properly plan for what we hope will be a fun time for all, and a great chance to meet our Delorey, DeLorey, et al. cousins from all over the U.S. and Canada. So I'm writing to let you know that we've created a website with basic information and will add details as they develop at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~delorey/reunion.html You'll also find a link to information on how to "pre-register", and a list of who's "pre-registered" so far. Or, go directly to: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~delorey/prereg.html By the way, if you know of anyone else who might be interested, I'd sure appreciate it if you would forward this e-mail to them. HOPE TO SEE YOU IN TRACADIE IN 2004! Best regards, Mary (DeLorey) Ferguson P.S. The Congrès mondial acadien 2004 (World Acadian Congress) will be taking place in Clare County, Nova Scotia, the two weeks prior to the week of the Delorey Reunion. Thomas Jacquet dit DesLauriers was not an Acadian, but his five sons and many descendants married Acadians who had settled at Tracadie at about the same time. There are many Acadian family reunions scheduled. If you're interested, go to http://www.cma2004.com for further information. Notify Administrator about this message?
