For what it's worth I have an ancestor Jacob DeLONG 1740s-1816 from the general area you mention. He was at Pittstown NY and in the Rev War as a member of the 14th Albany Co Militia. In 1801 Jacob, family & neighbours moved to the Toronto area. Several of them moved to Ohio because of bad behaviour during the War of 1812. Jacob was one, and he died there about 1816.
