In the 1850 Wisconsin census for Joseph Delon (Delong), his birthplace is listed as Canada. On his death certificate in Brown County, WI his place of birth is listed as Sacketts Harbor, New York. However, in the 1920 Federal Census, his son, John Delon lists the birthplace of his father as Samoa. That is the only reference I have found that is in conflict with the New York or Canada birthplace.
