Harriet Dell married David Uhler (1794 - 1874). David was the son of Andrew Uhler (born 21 Sept 1762) and Catharine (Kerlinger) Uhler (9 Feb 1765 - pre Apr 1803).

David Uhler fought in the War of 1812 from 22 July 1814 - 10 Jan 1815 (including a 21-day leave of absence). He married Harriet Dell on 10 Feb 1819.

David was a tailor by trade. He is listed as David Uhler, Esq., when hired by the Baltimore County Academy on 5 Sept 1835. In 1837, he was living in a shop opposite Westminster Bank in the town of Westminster, (now) Carroll County, MD. On 15 June 1842, David was listed for a house and lot in District # 7 (Westminster). It appears he sold his shop in town to Samuel J. Dell on 24 June or Sept 1842.

Sometime between 1842 and 1850, David Uhler moved to Hancock, Illinois. In the 1860 and 1870 Censuses, David lived in Appanose Township, Hancock County, IL, and he was a farmer.

I have more on the Uhlers and the Kerlingers.
