Andy Delisle:

Hello Andy. I am delighted to hear from an ancestor of François Deloeuil/Deloeil. I would like to talk with you and any other descendants who would like to help our team with information on François's family history for our project to produce a report on the history of François Deloeuil/Deloeil and the archaeology of his house and blacksmith shop on the River Raisin ca. 1789-1867.

We have some documents with his signature in the U.S. National Archives, Washington, DC, and a photo and obituary of him from the Monroe Commercial-Record dated 1905. It's hard to believe that he lived 132 years, and have seen the amazing things he saw (e.g., War of 1812, the growth of a young United States, and the state of Michigan.

The team at the Monroe County Historical Museum, Monroe, MI, is talking with Professor Michael Nassaney to involve a graduate student for his M.A. thesis on this project. One of the things we want to do in the thesis and published report is to include a family history.

My personal e-mail address is "pathcpis@peoplepc.com
