I am compiling the descendants of Charles EDELINE (ca1641-1711) & Jeanne BRACONNIER (1651-1711) of Longueuil/ Boucherville, QUEBEC. Charles had one son who came to the USA and his few remaing male descendants kept the original spelling of EDELINE, with one branch variation of EADLINE. Charles' other three sons remained in QUEBEC and within a few generations changed the name from EDELINE to DELIGNE to DELISLE. It is unknown as to why they made this change. However, there was no connection to the "Delisle dit Bienvenue" genealogy line. I am interested in communicating with anyone descended from the EDELINE-DELISLE line.
