This may help. The Delisle family originated in Normandy. Two Delisle knights, John and Robert, served with William of Normandy at the Battle of Hastings. As loyal knights they were rewarded with grants in the off-shore islands and in England. The location of the original family, on the coast of Normandy, suggests that, as mariners, Delisle's lived both in Normandy and in England. I descend from Charles Delisle [1580-1640]of Normandy, but I have done scant research to date. Hopefully, I'll someday be able to trace the genealogy of the Delisle family. Charlie
