Hi,

While I cannot go back to 1840, I can go back to 1901. On the Mohawk native reservation of Kahnawake; Pierre T. DeLisle was born. He was full blooded Mohawk of the Bear clan. He had 12 siblings. It is a reservation just outside Montreal,Quebec,Canada. He was my grandfather on my mothers' side. Today, there are many decendants who still reside there. A person to ask would be Andrew Delisle his nephew. Hope this narrows your search! Good luck!
