I am looking for the DeLisle of Amherstburg also. My grandfather was Walter Richard DeLisle born in Amherstburg on March 29,1891. He moved to Toledo Ohio at some point and then back to Windsor, Ont. He had a brother Louis who I think I have found a family line for. visit http://pedigree.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/pedview.dll?ti=5519&Ind=13665&File=1207785 for the tree.

This tree shows that John Baptiste DeLisle was married to Jeanne Parker and had 2 children Jean Baptiste and Francois. The name Jean and John are just one french=Jean and one english=John., This tree goes back and forth between the two spelling thus information could be mixed up quiet easily.

I have a death notice probably from the Windsor Star of a John B. DeLisle. It is quiet old and has seen better days. Unfortunatley the important names and dates are missing. However it read;

One of the oldest settlers of Malden township in the person of John B. DeLisle passed away to the Geat Beyond just before ...the midnight hour of last (Monday?)(almost certain it is Monday) and his remains (were?)....gone.....(possibly buried) in the R.C. (cemetary?)..................................(missing quite a gap here)
Gilbert residing in (Sandwich?)(almost certain).....gap........
The sister, Eliza, wife of ....gap.....Morin, also resides in (Sandwich?)(almost certain)West.
The deceased was a friend to every person who valued his friendship. He was a kind husband and a loving father, and his family watched the declining years of his life with tenderness, praying that the day of his departure might be delayed as long as possible.His hosts of friends will mourn with the family over his death.

Can anyone fill in the blanks?????
Do you know where DeLisle corners is? I am from Windsor and know the area as my husband is from Amherstburg.

If this is a link I have my grandfathers brother and links all the way to Normandy France. Really need to confirm names and dates first.
