In search of descedents of Bartolo de Leon,and Mercedes Medina, Bartolo de Leon died in Durango Colorado in the early 1900's while working for the railroad. He was married to Mercedes Medina a resident of San Antonio, Texas, died in the 1970's and had two sons, Fernando de Leon and a younger brother whose name I do not know, who died while forging the Guadalupe River with his mule team during a storm. Mercedes remarried, to Jose Alvarez and had a son, Tomas Alvarez, Tomas served in the Navy and was in the Pacific where he was wounded, while ferrying downed pilots. Bartolo and Mercedes were both born in Mexico, either Coahuila or neighboring states. Tomas was a mortician and worked at Rodrigues Funeral Home in San Antonio,Texas. Anybody having information regarding the paternal and maternal relatives of Bartolo de Leon, or Mercedes Medina (de Leon) (Alvarez)please get in contact with me.
