Hi Margaret,

I'll be glad to share anything I have. I'm a member of Ancestor.com and have looked at the early census records. Actually the 1790 & 1800 Virginia census have been destroyed. They have tried to reconstruct them through tax records. In the 1788 tax records, John Delbridge, Edward Delbridge and Thomas Delbridge are listed in Brunswick County. There are no Delbridges listed in the 1798 master tax list but I don't think it is complete.

In the 1810 Census there is a Benjamin Delbridge on p.710 It shows 1 male, 45 & over; 1 female, 26-44, & 4 females, 0-9.

On p. 746, there is:
Peggy Delbridge: 1 male 16-25,1 male 10-15, 1 male 0-9; 1 female 45 & over, 1 female 16-25,2 females 10-15, 1 female 0-9.

Maybe that will help. I'll be glad to check out anything else for you.

I understand that Edward Delbridge and Margaret (Peggy)Turner were the parents of Turner Delbridge. Do you agree with that and, if so, how did you document that they were his parents?

In addition to the 1810 Census, Peggy Delbridge shows up in the 1820 & 1830 Brunswick Co. Census as HoH. Where is Edward? Actually Turner shows up as the administrator of Edward's estate on 4 April 1827 in Rutherford County, TN. I'm confused about what's going on.

By the way, if you would like to e-mail me direct, my address is psaeger@aol.com.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Paul
