EMMETT BRANHAM died at his home in this city on Saturday evening, January 28, 1905, at 9 o'clock, after an illness of only a week with pneumonia and a complication of diseases. Funeral services were held at the home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. A quartette composed of Messrs. WALTER ANDERSON, CHAS. LOCKWOOD, FRED STAFFORD and ED CLARK, sang a few appropriate selections, and Rev. F.B. Palmer made an excellent talk. The remains were then laid to rest in the Chariton Cemetery.
EMMETT REED BRANHAM, son of MR. and MRS. W.H. BRANHAM, was born in Russell on February 28, 1880. For the past year he has made his home in Chariton. He was married here on February 3, 1904, to MAY DELAY, who survives him. He also leaves his parents, who reside in Russell and five sisters, MRS. NITHA JONES of Mitchell County, Kansas; MRS. BELLE VAN DYKE of Russell; MRS. IDA JONES of this city; MRS. MYRTLE LARIMER of El Paso, Texas; and MISS NINA BRANHAM of San Francisco, Cal. These bereaved ones have the sympathy of many friends in their great sorrow.
