I have been waiting for a possible match for the DeLaRosa family for close to a year now.
My husband's father, Luis, was born in June 1945, and the marriage certificate notes that he was born in Lyford, Texas. Luis has many brothers and sisters, and I know Basilia was the eldest of the family. Basilia's family was still located in Texas. Luis married Jesus "Susie" Lopez, had 2 boys and 4 girls, and then they divorced. They were living in Decatur, IN, during this time. Luis went away for many years, and then came back to Decatur in the late 1980's. Susie died of uterine cancer in 1983. Luis has been gone over 10 years now. At this point, my husband has Luis' brother in Decatur, and we have "adopted" them as his guardians. Luis also has a sister in Decatur, one brother in Fort Wayne, and one sister living in Texas.
My husband's father, Luis, did not remember anything about his father, Guadalupe, and I don't believe my husband ever got to meet him. I know that Guadalupe married Justa Rodriguez on Jan 7, 1941, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Decatur, IN (Adams County). I know that Guadalupe was born in Mexico, but Justa was born in Texas.
My husband remembers grandma Justa in Texas...I know she just past away within the last 10-15 years.
We have Lopez relatives, Susie's family, living in Illnois, but I do not know of DeLaRosa's in Illnois.
Does any of this sound familiar? I hope someone can connect somehow, for my husband.
