I found this information while searching in Virginia records. Source: Old New Kent county, Some Account of the Planters, Plantation, and Places in New Kent county, Vol. I, complied by Malcolm Hart Harris MD, West Point, Virginia
Corbin's Church, or parish of Stratton Major- Rev. William Dunlap as minister of the Parish.
The Rev. Mr. Dunlap, who ws from Philadelphia, ws licensed to the Barbadoes, and came to Virginia highly recommended. he was in stratton Major Parish about ten years, and when he left, he went to Hanover County(VA) and died in 1779, shortly thereafter. He was a very acceptable man, and seems to have had a mind to being often reported in the current news.--
In 1772, the Rev. Mr. Dunlop desired to go to the West Indies, and the Vestry agreed to give him a leave of absence for twelve months, if he would see that neighboring ministers would conduct services during this absence.
pp.324 I learned somewhere that Franklin and Rev. William Dunlap were interested in the printing business in the Barbadoes.
--William Dunlap was born in Ireland and when a young man came to America, and apprenticed himself to William Bradford, a printer at Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to learn the printing trade. It was through this business that Dunlap made easy contacts with persons of prominence, who added to his success as a printer and later, promoted his advancement in the ministry, for he came to Virginia, and fell into the most desiable parish in the Colony, which was certainly, not by mere accident.
He remained at Lancaster with William Bradford from 1754 to 1757, and during this period it seems that he married Deborah, daughter of John Crocker and Frances (Read), his wife. Her mother, Frances Read Crocker, was a daughter of Mrs. Sarah Read and sister of Mrs. Deborah (Read) Franklin, wife of the eminent Dr. Benjamin Franklin.
