His parents were Jean De La Noyes (variously written de la Noyes and DeLannoy) who was supposedly born in Tarbet, a village near Lourdes in the south of France. He married Jan. 13, 1595/6 Marie le Mahieu, and died in 1604, leaving little Philippe and his syblings with his widowed mother in Leyden.
